I have three mollies, one male and two female. The male keeps harassing the females. Always begging for sex, chasing them around the tank, trying to cop a
feel, etc. Really seems to go after the white female, probably because he mated with her before and thinks she's going to put out. Since I'm trying to
get the females to birth and they are less likely to with a male being such a dick, I finally gave up and separated him into a guppy breeder as punishment.
Now he's depressed and the white female keeps visiting him in fishy prison. Wtf? The black female is also visiting him in fishy prison, but he stopped paying attention to her once he knocked her up, so she's taking it out on the white female and harassing her.
At least, this is what my anthropomorphizing of fish has led me to believe. The goldfish remains a cold-blooded killer who won't die and is plotting to grow really big with fangs so he can eat me.
By the way, female mollies are livebearers and can remain pregnant for up to six months, releasing 12-30 fry once a month just on one mating. The males have penis fins that can swivel almost 360 degrees. TMYK
