The 60-year-old rocker is reportedly seeking help for unspecified "substance abuse" at the same facility where VH1's "Celebrity Rehab" was taped. The reality show was helmed by Dre. Drew Pinsky.
The singer, who is the father of actress Liv Tyler, sought treatment in 1986 after his Aerosmith bandmates pressured him to get clean. He and guitarist Joe Perry were known in the 1970s as "the Toxic Twins" for their reputations as hard partiers.
Tyler revealed two years ago he'd been diagnosed with hepatitis C, a dangerous virus that can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer. He has since claimed to have cleared the disease from his bloodstream.
Tyler's representatives have not commented on the report.
